How It Works

The stages of Day care – What to expect

Before

You’ll have an assessment by a professional, that takes into account your abilities, needs and wishes. There will be involvement with your family if you wish, in decisions about day care. This includes whether it will be suitable for you which session.

Start

You’ll be given information about the services, sessions and what will be involved. You’ll receive support to plan what you are aiming for (your goals) and how to reach them. These discussions will include your carers. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions.

Receiving

You’ll receive support from activity co-orinators, to help you socialise with other people and join in activities. When receiving the service your needs and requirements will be reviewed to ensure that the care you are receiving is right for your needs.

End

We hope you will retain and learn new skills with support and encouragement and this will give you the confidence that will enable you to continue to live independently for as long as possible.
